Car Shipment Preparations
Shipping household items is rather simple: you pack, call the shipper, and whisk them away. Its the same as shipping a car but there are some additional steps you must take to ensure that your car is shipped safely. There are some preparations you need to take before your car shipping company comes to pick up your car.
Consider these steps ahead of time to minimize potential problems that could arise while your car is being shipped:
Unless you are shipping a non-operating car or truck, like an antique automobile, and your car shipping service knows about it, have your car serviced ahead of time so that it will start, stop and roll like it's supposed to and transactions won't be delayed.
Ensure your car has the amount of fuel, battery charge and air pressure in the tires.
You have to secure or remove any bolted on accessories, like roof racks, extra mirrors, air dams, spoilers, etc.
Lower or remove all antennas. If you have an E-Z pass device remove it before shipping.
Completely wash the car and clean the interior. If shipping the car overseas, have the undercarriage washed. The destination country may require it.
Have any fluid leakage problems corrected. If you car is leaking fluid, make sure the car shipping service knows about it in advance and that the driver is aware of it so your car doesn't get placed above another car in transit and damage it.
To have a better security, don't leave this item until the last minute.
Provide a full set of keys to your car shipping service. If needed to make additional keys, prepare it ahead of time and make sure they all work.
If you are shipping a car to an area with unpleasant weather, be sure to have an air conditioning serviced, the antifreeze protection increased, or by using the proper viscosity oil for the new climate.
Dispatch all personal items inside you car that is being shipped. It is against the law of the US and the car shipping service can get fined. For this, you can prevent any measures causing your personal items to the risk of theft.
The only thing you should leave in the car is the jack and the spare tire.
Try to leave no more than a quarter tank of gas in the car when it's picked up for shipment or dropped off at the car shipping service's location. Safely empty any RV propane tanks.
Disconnect or turn off you car alarm, if there is, to prevent accidentally going off while your car is in. Don’t forget to provide the driver with instructions and remotes that accompanied your alarm systems.

What would the best way be to fix 4 flat tires on a antique car?
I just bought a 1953 Buick and it has been sitting for a while. The tires are flat and beyond holding air for any long period of time.. I tried using a 2.5 ton floor jack but it would not lift the car high enough. What would be the best & safest way to lift it and remove one by one. Also the car was delivered and put into the garage to close to the wall,,so I also need to move it. What is the best option to move it from the wall and get the tires fixed?
Coker Tire among others has original style tires. You didn't say what kind of floor you have. If it is a cement floor, any decent jack should lift it. You could get "dollies" to move the car with. They are 4 wheeled carts with a tray on them to set the wheel on. If the tires are junk, just hook a chain to it and pull it out. You will not damage the wheels just moving it a little.
