Sims 2? Can't find something in the build catalog?

I downloaded an Escape Hybrid car from the custom thing online and then the garage and driveway. It told me i would be able to find it in the build catalog but i can't find it. I tried redownloading it but i still can't find it. Do i have to have this to have the car? And also i was using University. Could it be that it won't let me have a garage in the University?

Actually, you DON'T need Nightlife, but you DO need any expansion pack that is newer than Nightlife.

I used to spend hours on the bbs at that site. So, I know that it SAYS that you only need The Sims 2 for the cars and the driveway/garage to work, but when Maxis put it up on the site, they screwed up. There actually used to be a post from a Maxis employee stating that they messed up and that it is actually for people who have a newer expansion pack than Nightlife, but do not have Nightlife -- so those people could also have cars in their game without having to buy Nightlife.

It won't work if you only have The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 University. If you do have Nightlife, you can add the cars if you want them, but the reason I listed above is why EA actually put them on the site. That's why they also have the driveway, driveway extension piece and the garage doors available for downloading. If you actually already had Nightlife, you would NOT need those.

So, unless you buy Nightlife (in which case you won't need the driveway/garage doors) or any newer expansion pack, you can't use them, sorry.
