DIY Car Repair Possible?

The expense for repairing my little old Nissan Sentra classic vehicle is getting out of hand and I've always been intrigued by the modularity of car parts. I was hoping to perhaps replace my own Wheel Bearings (the mechanic told me my fron wheel wheel bearings have probs -- the 2 front wheels are wobbling a bit and one tire appears to be completely bald on the inner side).

Now i have no experience with cars but i would like to learn and this seems like an interesting prob. Can anyone recommend any good DIY books or sites on car repair, starting with wheel bearings.

Go to the local library and check out a repair book, hopefully on your car model and year. Or go to the car parts store and buy a Chilton or Hayne's book covering your car, they aren't that much. Read the section regarding front wheel bearings and make sure you hav all the tools required before starting. Cars are not that hard to work on.
