Zagreb Municipal Museum

located at Muzgi Grada Zagreba Opaticka 20. The buildings housing the museum are protected as important cultural monuments and the exhibits inside depict the history of the city of Zagreb through a continous series of archaeological finds dating from the Roman, Avar Slav and early Croatian periods.Particularly interesting is the medieval history collections that depicts the historys of the two settelments of Kaptol and Gradec that later merged to become Zagreb.

Other collections in the museum include 15th and 16th century Zagreb sketches, the history of St Mark's church, the Second World War, maps, furniture, old photographs, 19th century wepons and old portraits of citizens of zagreb as well as the archives that hold extensive periodical and newspaper clippings.

Recreational Sports Centre Jarun

this popular park and recreation area is loceted on the banks of Lake Jarun in the southwestern side of the city. The park has some fine shingle beaches where visitors can swim, sunbath, fish, waterski and participate in other water sports.

For those who prefer to keep dry, there is beach volleball, basketball, table tennis, miniture golf, football, handball and run along the jogging lane surrounding the lake. There are many delicious restaurants and a disco in the park and the lake hosts a world class regatta course.

Dolac Market

located at Tkalciceva behind Trgbana Josipa Jelacica. The market celebrats all things edble and is where farmers from surrounding towns gather to sell their produce. Dolac sells everything from fresh leafy vegetables, juicy fruits, organic meat, herbs and nuts to fish and cheese housed in their own seperate rooms. Aside from food, there are also various stalls selling traditional Croatian handecrafts such as lace placemats, napkin sets and tablecloths at very reasonable prices if you remeber to do some bargaining.

Dolac market's upper level has quiant old cafe's and randomly placed bar stolls where you can enjoy a drink and watch the world go by.

Maksimir Park and City Zoo

located at Maksimirirski Perivojbb and reached by taking tram no 11 or no 12 from Trg bana Josipa Jelaciea east (Dubec) to the Bukovacka stop. Opened to the public in 1794, the park has 18 hectares of leafy green forests, grassed areas and lakes and is the best place for rest and relaxation. For the children the park is a wonderful place to run and play and the lovely city zoo with its wide variety of animals is sure to keep both adults and children happy for hours. Entrance to Maksimir park is on the north side of the street and the zoo is housed within the park.

Katedrala Marijna Uznesenja

loacted at Kaptol 31. The Cathedral whose impressive neo Gothic style towers can be seen from almost anywhere in the city was origionaly founded in 1093 but the Romanesque construction only finished in 1242. Through the years, the impossing cathedral was badly damaged and nearly destroyed by various sieges, sweeping fires and an earthquake at this time the bell towers were also built.

Mass is held daily at 7am, 8am, 9am and on Sundays at 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11:30 am. Visitors are urged to turn off mobile phones iside the cathedral.

World Theatre Festival Zagreb

held in September, this is Zagrebs newest festival since it was held for the first time in 2003, but is fast becoming one of the country's most popular festivals. The festival of world theatre hosts a selection of some of the best and most innovative world theatre and is aimed at making the public aware of relevant happenings in the theatre world. The festival also showcases various origional and classic theatre productions.

located at Zelengaj 2A, to get to the restaurant take bus no 103 from Britanski trg. As is one of the most famous seafood restaurants in Zagreb. The decor sets a laidback but refind colonial atmosphere with potted palms and lovely wicker furniture in the elegant dinning room.

The food at As is not cheap but the sensational seafood is definitley worth every penny and the staff is well trained and extremely attentive. Open daily 10am to midnight.

Modern Gallery Zagreb

located at Andrije Hebranga 1, inside the Vranyczany Mansion. The gallery houses works of art by all relevant artists of the 19th and 20th centuries as well as having the biggest and most complete collection of Croatian art.

The over 10 000 works of art are arranged into various collections of paintings, graphic art, medals, posters and sculptures. Different groups of painters are also represented in the gallery, such as the earth group, Hlebine school and post war generation of artists representing a wide variety of styles such as geometrical, abstract and surrealism.

The gallery publishes monographs on artists and their works in a catalogue series called Modern Croatian Art and in other publications.

St Mark's Church

located at Markov Trg, the church can be reached from the lower town by taking the funicular up and then walking down a flight of steps to the church. St Mark's is a stunning visual masterpiece in the centre of one of the most important squares in Zagreb and is surrounded by various government and administrative buildings such as Parliment built in 1908 and Presidential Palace built in the 18th century.

The church itself was built in the 13th century and its most distinguishing feature are the bright, colourful roof tiles from the 19th century as well as the various coats of arms of Croatia, Zagreb and other regions that are depicted on the roof. Inside, St Mark's has sombre stone walls, brightened by restored frescoes and sculptures by famous modern Croatian artist Ivan Mestrovic.

Trakoscan Castle

this legendary 13th century Gothic style castle hosted various influencial Croatian families but after being taken over by the Draskovic family it fell into direpair. The castle was taken over by the state in the 1950's and is now a living museum.

The castle features recreations of medieval life, a spooky dungeon and beautiful parkland surroundings that visitors can explore.

Trakoscan Castle is open daily from 9am to 4pm.

77 caprice classic?

Two part Q:

I just bought the car and i cant seem to find a parts catalog anywhere online for it. I would like to restore it but everything i find just skips the late 70's and 80's.

The other thing is it has the bent glass window in the back. I know its rare but how rare?
I allready have all the manuals. I just need to find restoration parts. It just needs some interior work and new paint. Its a solid car. Not bad for 300 bucks.
Something like an LMC Truck catalog. I dont need the rear window. Its in good shape, I was just curious if it added a little extra value astheticly to the car.

The reason you can't find parts catalogs for it is that most late 70's, early/mid 80's cars have never become popular for resto projects. The Caprice was a nice car, but not a collector car, at least not yet. Good luck with the project, you may have to look around for donor cars. They're still out there.
