Do you have to get classic cars inspected in NC?

I recently bought a beautiful 1967 mustang and the guy said that in the state of NC you dont have to get it inspected. I've heard that from other people but dont know if it's true! Dont really want to look stupid pulling up at a shop with it when I dont need to!!!!!

Good news - you don't need to have a safety or emissions inspection on any vehicle over 35 years old in the state of NC.
