Classic Car News: Hammer Time
We all know classic Bugatti's are renowned for breaking records at auctions, but the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic has managed to trump the highest amount ever paid and create a new world record. In California yesterday the Bugatti pictured became the "most expensive car to sell at auction", fetching over £20 million, according to the Top Gear website.
The NY Daily News website has reported that "the curve-alicious French deco vehicle", which is now the most expensive car in the world, is also "one of the most significant and valuable automobiles that has been in a private collection and rarely seen during the past four decades".
Apart from the obvious allure of the car, one of the major selling points of this classic car is its rarity – with only three models ever built. The exact amount paid for the Bugatti in question remains a mystery, but reports from the show floor suggest it could be as high as "£27 million, smashing the £8 million paid for a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa in the same show last year", reports TopGear.com.
The swooping, sleek Bugatti is one of three in a series and was unveiled at the 1935 Paris Auto Salon, and for quite some time has been regarded as the "most desirable classic automobile in the world", reports EliteChoice.org. Not many people can afford the luxury of the most desirable car in the world, but one of the lucky owners comes in the form of Ralph Lauren – which just goes to show how very valuable they are.
The 1936 Bugatti was bought by an unnamed "devoted connoisseur", according to the auction house Gooding & Company, which announced the jaw dropping deal yesterday. The buyer wishes to stay anonymous and keep his/her newly acquired jewel to him/herself.
Taken from the Top Gear website, the classic Bugatti is a "hell of a lot of cash – but this is a hell of a lot of car". As most classic motors have, this Bugatti Type 57SC has a hell of a lot of history too, including winning the 2003 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and being regarded as one of the most beautiful automobiles ever created.

classic car tattoo?
i want to get a 1967 dodge charger tattooed on my back with red sun rays in the backround. this will be a memorial tattoo for my father. problem is i dont know how a classic car looks when tattooed. i can not find a good picture of this on the web i am wondering if anyone has a good picture of a classic car tat.
don't look for a classic car tattoo because it's not something that is tattooed very often that comes out looking good. what you need to do is search for a tattoo artist who specializes in tattooing photo realism. the first artists that comes to mind is nikko hurtado and the second is nick baxter. their tattoos look so realistic and not at all like tattoos. nikko mostly does portraits but that doesn't mean he can't do other things. do some research on artists and not so much picures of tattoos. when you find the right artist you'll know.
here is a link to nikko's work
