where the hell can I take my vehicle and speed it to maximum speed?

I live near the Chicago area, and I don't want some stupid, little pathetic dragstrip.

I saw that movie "The Bucket List" and I saw how they drove top speed at that raceway in their old classic muscle cars. I want to do that same thing. I want to do this without being on the road and worrying about being pulled over for speeding. I want to take my vehicle and gun it and know it's perfectly legal?

Are you gonna tell me I can't do it ANYWHERE around this area? Then why in the blue hell do they make cars go so fast? To tease me?
I'm going to get a V8 Mustang, Firebird, or Camaro sometime in the future and I want to max out that vehicle V8 power to the max, and not do it on just some stupid little dragstrip.

Drive out to Joliet and run your car down the NHRA dragstrip at Route 66 Raceway.
They have 'Test and Tune' events throughout the warm weather seasons. As long as your car passes the safety requirements, you can run it down the track. You'll see everything from pickups, tuners, pro-streets, family station wagons, and even squad cars running down the same track that the top fuel dragsters race on. No chance of getting a speeding ticket there.
