Online Corvette Site Benefits From Economy And Recession As Used Car Sales Increase
CorvetteTraderOnline, a online store & classifieds web site, is posting record sales figures of high-end and classic Corvette models as investors and collectors look to lock up their value during the ongoing recession.
Medford, OR February 4, 2009 - As the American automobile industry continues to struggle amid a worsening recession some car owners are reaping a windfall as they buy and sell classic new and used Corvettes online to make long-term investments and to take advantage of sudden bargains. While many car companies look to hybrid technology and eco-friendly manufacturing for the future of the auto industry classic models of the Chevy Corvette are still finding a competitive market for their time-honored craftsmanship and nostalgic engine power. Classic American sports and muscle cars have always been a collector's dream but with a recession taking hold the value of such iconic cars is seeing a noticeable upswing.
When economic hardships strike many investors look to shore up the assets they have and currently car owners and shoppers are heating up the Corvette market with offers and sales pushing more vehicles through the pipeline. From classic 1960's Corvette Sting Ray models to contemporary Z1's the legendary American sports car is still maintaining its value despite continued trouble with the automobile industry.
CorvetteTraderOnline has experienced a rise in traffic and sales as Corvette owners and collectors are seeking out rare and vintage models to invest in now with the hope of turning a profit later. Though many cars lose value over the years the legacy of the Chevrolet Corvette has allowed it to bypass traditional depreciations and remain a cherished collector's item. In addition to new and used Corvettes CorvetteTraderOnline also offers a complete selection of Corvette parts, Corvette apparel and other Corvette-related merchandise through an online Corvette store. The Corvette super-store has been a leading online retailer of genuine Corvette merchandise and products since its launch and now is seeing a steady rise in the Corvette buying and selling business.

Any model train collectors out there? I need expert advice.?
I have my father's complete train set, from 1930, and I understand it's quite collectible. Many cars, scenery pieces, track. It has been in storage for years and is in pretty good shape, with a little surface corrosion, but lots and lots of dust and the metal is dull. I haven't actually seen it work in 20 years, but I'm sure it woudn't take much to get it going. I've finally decided to let it go. I've ordered a guide to pricing, but so much depends on condition. Here are my questions (thanks for your patience, and serious answers only please):
1) It looks bad now because of the dirt, does that affect how I rate the condition?
2) Should I clean it, and if so,
3) How can I best clean it up for sale without damaging anything?
4) Is eBay the best sale site?
5) Should I sell it as a set or by the piece?
Thanks for any advice.
Dirt/ dust should be removed with something very fine. Perhaps a microfibre duster, and be very gentle.
A very fine sandpaper will bring the tracks back to a shine, as well as enabling them to function properly.
I would get it valued somewhere by someone in the industry to know it's true value.
And I believe you should sell it as a set, if it's all from the 30's. (Not additional pieces from various years)
