On the PS3, which VIDEO OUTPUT SETTINGS should i choose for my TV.?
Hi, i just bought a HDTV about 5 days ago. And bought a HDMI cable for my PS3. First of all when you go to display setting and click on it, then video output setting, screensaver etc come up. When i click on video output setting, then it tells me to seleft the type of connection on my TV, i click on HDMI because its already been set. Then when i click on it i have the option of either setting it AUTOMATICALLY or CUSTOM. When i click on CUSTOM and i have the choice to select.
576p
720p
1080i
1080p
but 576p is auto selected and cannot unselect it. But which other ones should i activate? All of these that i just mentioned, my TV supports them. So which one(s) should i tick/click on for the best picture quality etc. Plz help some1! I promise best answer to whoever answers my question propably, and a big big thank you!
Oh mine is AWA brand LCD 32" TV.
But whichever resolution i choose it still works, but which is the best one?
It's going to depend on what your tv can support. What size and model is your TV? If it's an HDTV it should have through 1080i without a problem. If it is a larger TV, it should have 1080p. I'd set it for everything up through 1080i.
I have my PS3 connected to a 32" LCD in my bedroom, I run it through 1080i. This can cause you to get "letterbox" on some BlueRay movies, but will look fine with games. I use to have it connected to my 50", which would support 1080p.
You could just set it to AUTOMATICALLY, and let the PS3 decide. You can always go back an tweek if need be.
