Save Money By Importing Your Car, Auto Or S.U.V. Into Canada

You may think that it is really a difficult process to import a car into Canada from the US. It is not that difficult if you follow the clearly outlined rules - step by step. In the end it is a way for Canadians to save big money on the major purchase of purchasing a new vehicle - be it car, truck, van or SUV.

First and foremost - do your research on the car. This should be very standard stuff to you. Depending on the rules of the state where the vehicle is purchased sales tax may not be charged if the car leaves the dealer's lot on the truck as opposed to being driven away. In addition the car most likely will be insured during transport by the carrier. In these cases the cost of the sales tax payment saved may well be in excess of any shipping costs. In addition it saves you the time, expense and gas of traveling to pick up the vehicle as well as driving it home. You will have 45 days from the time of submission of your documentation to the Canadian Border Service Agencies to complete the necessary modifications.

There are a number of straightforward steps in the process are taking your new vehicle for individual certification and inspection. Auto Brokers License in Georgia?

My business plan is involves selling a very specific kind of older or classic cars, and I may need a dealers license to do it legally. (In the State of Georgia you are limited to 5 per year without a dealers license) all I really want is access to dealer auctions, if I could achieve that goal by "partnering" with a licensed broker that might be better. Does anyone out there have any insight on the subject? I am planning to approach some smaller dealers with this business proposition, but I want to be sure and approach it in the right way and not completely turn them off to the whole idea before I've had the opportunity to make my presentation to them. Any thoughts?

yes you need a business licence to broker cars but there is no special training or certificate required. You can approach larger dealers and ask them to include you on their wholesalers list. When they get cars that they don't want to sell themselves they call a broker to come and buy them in bulk and take them away. You can then resell them if you wish. You may want to check and see what brokers are required to to when they sell a car/ ie: must it be fixed, pass a safety inspection, etc. The best thing to do if you have never done it before is get a job at a car dealership first and learn how they operate regarding trade ins appraisals etc.As far as specialty cars, classic cars etc reputation of the broker is important and quality and reliabilty of the vehicles they are selling must be included. you will need to have a way of delivering the cars and you will often have to buy the car with your own funds first and sometimes the client changes his mind and you are stuck with a car.
